Workmen’s Compensation Act, 1923

Applicability

It applies to all employees working in mines, factories, plantations, construction establishments, oilfields, etc. Moreover, it applies to establishments which are under Schedule II of the Worker's Compensation Act. The act applies to persons who are working abroad or outside India as per Schedule II of the Act.
Every employee, who is engaged for the purposes of employer's business and who suffers an injury in any accident arising out of and in the course of his employment, shall be entitled for compensation under the Act.
