The Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Scheme now applies across all 31 districts of Gujarat, bringing millions of formal and industrial workers under full social security coverage.

15 First-Time Districts
Districts brought under ESI coverage for the first time, including Kutch, Amreli, Dang, Tapi, Devbhumi Dwarka and Gir Somnath. Workers in these regions gain statutory access to ESIC healthcare and cash benefits.
16 Partially Covered Districts Upgraded
Districts previously restricted to selective industrial or urban hubs—such as Ahmedabad, Surat, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Vadodara, Kheda and neighboring Anand—now receive 100% full-district geographic coverage
